For many Bengali families, marriage conversations include practical questions about family, education, career, location and long-term plans. Ikdhun is not pretending those questions disappear. It changes when and how a person is encountered.
Instead of beginning with a conventional matrimonial biodata, an Ikdhun member is understood through a long conversation about the life behind those facts: what shaped them, how they think about family, what they are ambitious about, what partnership means to them and what they are still figuring out.
For people between dating apps and arranged marriage
A large group of people want something serious but feel uncomfortable at both extremes. Swipe-based dating can feel too disposable; conventional matrimony can feel too transactional. Conversation-first matchmaking gives that group another starting point.
You are still free to care about location, language, career, lifestyle or family compatibility. The intention is simply to make those filters coexist with personality rather than erase it.
Bengali community, without turning community into a gate
Ikdhun has been building early Bengal-rooted clusters through alumni, professional and community referrals. A friend can recommend a friend, and participants can speak naturally in the language that makes them comfortable during the wider process.
